o ring supplier

Description: O-ring cord is extruded rubber in an O shaped section. It is generally available in Nitrile (NBR) Viton (FPM) Silicone (VMQ) and EPDM. Materials. Cord such as EPDM O-ring Cord is generally supplied on coils of varying length, typically 25, 50 or 100 metres dependant upon the cross section or material.

Applications: O-ring cord is generally used to produce O-rings in special sizes which are not generally available from stock. The O-ring cord is cut and then either cold butt jointed using superglue or scarf jointed and vulcanised using a special vulcanising tool. Cold butt jointing is usually done in the field for emergency repairs whilst scarf jointing and vulcanising is more of a workshop or manufacturing operation. O-ring cords can also be used for making gaskets or sealing enclosures.
